Chef de Partie | Asian Cuisine

The Venues 

 

Merivale is currently looking for amazing Chef de Parties, Wok Chefs, Demi Chefs to join our teams on a full- time or casual basis across two of our Asian restaurants.  

 

MuMu is an inner-city hangout spot set within the ivy precinct. It is the perfect place to drink, dance, and burn the midnight oil. The menu is inspired by Malaysia, Singapore, Hong Kong, Taiwan & Vietnam cuisine from a selection of sambal with krupuk, and wok-fried king prawns.  

 

Award winning modern Cantonese restaurant Queen Chow located on the busy bustling Enmore Road. This eatery serves Hong Kongese Street food and yum cha-inspired delicacies in a glamorous old-school imperial dining house.  

 

Mr. Wong does Cantonese-style food in a larger-than-life way. This two hat venue seats 240 people over two levels and serves a selection of up to 80 dishes, it’s a big affair. Yet somehow, with nooks for two, dim lighting and moody jazz the restaurant still manages to feel intimate.  

 

Ms. G’s playful approach to cooking criss-crosses various Asian cuisines (please don’t make us say ‘fusion’) and borrows from others. The modern Asian Australian dining venue based in Potts Point offers undeniable favourites like cheeseburger spring rolls, char sui octopus donburi, and tea smoked duck.  

 

The Role 

 

The ideal person will have the following experience: 

  • Have 2+ years' experience in a similar role
  • Asian cooking experience is preferred, even better if you have worked on the wok. 
  • Be able to work in a fast-paced work environment
  • Be adaptable, organized and have a keen eye for detail
  • Have experience managing and owning a variety of sections across the kitchen
  • Be confident in your communication and attitude  
  • Have experience training and guiding junior staff as a Chef de Partie
