The Venue

Classic elegance meets a pitch-perfect party atmosphere at the ground floor Iconic Establishment Bar. Flanked by lines of magnificent iron columns and a 42-metre-long marble bar centrepiece, the former George Patterson House retains much of its formal glory.

With a strong corporate clientele both during and after office hours, this well-known bar is a mecca for repeat clients.  Building relationships and offering service that goes above and beyond is key to the success of this bar.


The Role

We are after a stand-out Venue Manager with a focus on driving business performance and building, leading and developing high performing teams.


This role will suit a passionate hospitality professional, who can adapt to a range of service styles and product offerings within the one venue including Establishment's saucy salsa Tuesday's and lively after work drinks. 


Reporting directly to the General Manager, you will be leading from the front and setting standards high, managing each bar from end, ensuring a smooth operation of all moving parts across the venue.  As the Venue Manager you are the backbone to our business and It's your job to ensure that you maintain the highest level or service, most importantly every one of our customers receives an experience that'll leave them yearning for more.


Your focus will be around:


  • Accountability for day to day operations and business performance
  • Delivering exceptional guest experience standards and driving consistency
  • People practices such as recruitment, employee engagement, training and development
  • Finding growth opportunities, activation and delivery
  • Effective financial management around COGS, sales budgets and profits
  • Legal compliance of the venue
  • Effective stock management, quality improvement and reporting
  • Venue maintenance, cleanliness, organisation and presentation


Our venue is all about the execution of excellence and creating an unforgettable guest experience. To really succeed in this role, you will have:


  • Exposure to managing large teams in a high-volume venue managing 50+ people
  • Minimum of 3+ years in a Venue Management or General Management position
  • Commercial and operational awareness
  • Advanced product knowledge and high level of experience delivering high standards
  • Experience driving high standards through people
  • Previous ownership around recruitment, training and development of team
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, Influencing, coaching and presentation skills
  • Refined business acumen with proven growth results of a venue
