Sous Chef | Ivy Events

We are currently seeking experienced Sous Chef’s to join our events team. Merivale delivers an exciting range of events within the Ivy and Establishment buildings including cocktail parties, food installations, private dinner parties, breakfast functions and off-site productions to list a few; you name it, we’ll do it.

A day could involve running multiple events simultaneously across various spaces in the building as well as delivering menus for off-site productions. We have one of the largest and best resourced kitchens in the company. We produce a huge range of food options for various events menus as well as constant development and delivery of bespoke menus for clients. 


As Sous Chef of an events kitchen you will responsible for; overseeing prep and cooking, engaging with suppliers, coordinating with FOH Managers and Head Office, executing delivery, consistency of quality and food costing. As well as assisting with performance, training and succession planning for kitchen staff.


The ideal candidate will need to be adaptable to the events calendar and possess excellent time management skills, be a strong communicator with a hands-on leadership style. A solid understanding of the kitchen admin responsibilities, or a strong desire to learn them is a key attribute of the candidate. This is an exciting role that will give you exposure to numerous events types and cooking styles. A Sous Chef position within the events team gives you the chance to interact with Head Office and be a part of the larger development conversations taking place within the company.
