Social Media Specialist

The Role 

We are seeking a Social Media Specialist with 3+ years of experience to join our team.  

This role is ideal for a content-driven professional with strong interpersonal skills and a passion for hospitality. You’ll be responsible for managing a portfolio of Merivale’s social media accounts – executing strategies that drive engagement, increase brand awareness, and bring our venues to life across digital platforms. 

As a key point of contact between our venues and the central marketing team, this position requires a proactive communicator who can build strong relationships, manage multiple projects with precision, and capture content that reflects the quality and energy of the Merivale experience. 

 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Develop and manage content calendars for a portfolio of social media accounts, ensuring consistent, on-brand, and strategic posting
  • Capture, edit, and publish real-time, high-quality content across relevant platforms
  • Write engaging and brand-aligned social copy for various venues and campaigns
  • Support new venue launches and groupwide marketing campaigns through compelling content creation
  • Coordinate and execute influencer marketing campaigns, including briefing, execution, and reporting
  • Monitor social media inboxes, ensuring timely and appropriate responses to messages and comments
  • Foster online community engagement and maintain accurate, up-to-date account information
  • Track and analyse performance data to inform ongoing content optimisation and reporting
  • Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and venue teams, offering guidance and support to venue teams
  • Stay informed on emerging trends, tools and features across social platforms to foster creativity and innovation 

Essentials: 

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a social media or digital content role
  • Strong content creation skills, with the ability to capture engaging visuals on the go
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills – you’re approachable, responsive, and confident working cross-functionally
  • Highly organised, with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Comfortable analysing performance data and using insights to drive content decisions
  • Passionate about hospitality, storytelling, and building brand connection through digital channels
  • A collaborative mindset and openness to feedback and continuous improvement
