The Role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Payroll Advisor to join our People Services team on a Maternity Leave Contract in the everchanging world of hospitality, working across a portfolio of some of Sydney's most iconic restaurants, bars and night spots including Establishment, The Newport, Coogee Pavilion, ivy and many more.

 

The primary purpose of this role is to support our business in the accurate and timely administration and processing of our weekly payroll of 2500+ employees.

 

Critical to this role is excellent communication skills and a friendly manner. In our fast paced, ever-changing environment, we need someone that has the perfect balance of being a team player, initiative to get the job done, and the adaptability to work independently.

 

Key responsibilities will also include:

 

  • Managing Payroll Co-ordinator and assisting with payroll processing when required
  • Managing complex payroll queries and escalate where required
  • Award interpretation and supporting the business to understand it’s application
  • Maintaining a structured approach and methodology around data checks and audit to ensure accuracy of payroll
  • Managing detailed payroll check lists and prepare for manager approval
  • Managing new and existing processes and ensuring they are clearly documented
  • Accurate and timely completion of the Month End process and assisting with Year End process
  • All statutory payments being processed on time inclusive of Super and Payroll Tax payments, Child Support and Garnishments
  • Understanding of Workers Compensation payments
  • Payroll reporting and assisting with system testing and new enhancements
  • Assisting other members of the broader People team with problem solving, information generating, solutions and data insights

 

We’re after someone with an eye for detail, who is highly organised and meticulous in ensuring work is delivered on time and accurately.

 

5+ years of experience in Payroll processing would be desirable in this role. We are pretty open minded with industry background, hospitality or retail would be a great fit but not essential. Experience with SAP Employee Central Payroll and Kronos is highly desired.
