Senior Graphic designer / Studio Manager | Merivale

The Event Operations Team deliver thousands of events across the Merivale portfolio each year which include some of Sydney’s most iconic venues such as Establishment, ivy, Hotel CBD, Beresford and many, many more. 

 

The Role 

Merivale is searching for a Creative Manager to oversee the execution of all day-to-day design needs across Merivale’s venues, ensuring consistency, efficiency and high-quality creative output. Leading a small team of graphic designers, this role focuses on the ongoing maintenance of venue assets – such as menu updates and signage changes – while also delivering campaign-based creative work, including activations and event promotions, and social media assets. 

Core responsibilities: 

  • Team leadership and Workflow management: Lead and mentor a small team of graphic designers, ensuring efficient workflow and high design standards. 

  • Venue Asset Maintenance: Oversee the timely & accurate updating of menus, in-venue signage, wayfinding & other operational design needs. 

  • Campaign & Promotional Design: Lead the creation of visual assets for marketing campaigns, seasonal events, and venue-specific promotions (e.g., St. Patrick’s Day, Melbourne Cup). 

  • Quality control & Brand Consistency: Ensure all design outputs – whether for print, digital, or in-venue assets – adhere to brand guidelines and maintain a merivale aesthetic. 

  • Cross team Collaboration & Process Improvement: Work closely with the marketing, operations and venue teams to streamline design request processes and improve efficiency. 

The Essentials 

  • Previous experience leading & mentoring a small creative or design team 

  • Exposure managing high-volume, multi-channel design projects across digital & print 

  • You can create visual assets for marketing campaigns, events & seasonal promotions 

  • Being able to Maintain brand consistency across venue signage, menus & wayfinding 

  • You are a great collaborator working cross-functionally with marketing & venue teams 

  • Being able to Implement workflow improvements or design process efficiencies
