Senior Event Manager | Merivale
The Role
Merivale’s event team are responsible for 1000’s of events each year. This is a great opportunity to make your mark within a team of passionate event planners as a Senior Event Manager
Reporting to the Head of Event Management, this role supports the development and leadership of the Event Management Team, which oversees events across 90+ venues, including iconic locations such as the Sydney Cricket Ground and Allianz Stadium. In addition to managing a small portfolio of events annually, the role is responsible for team leadership, stakeholder and account management, and cross-departmental collaboration to ensure the successful delivery of events. The role also includes oversight of financial performance, health and safety compliance, and adherence to regulatory standards.
Your day might look like:
- Support and develop the Event Management Team to ensure consistent, high-quality event delivery across all venues.
- Plan and deliver a select number of events annually, including major events at Sydney Cricket Ground and Allianz Stadium.
- Manage key internal and external stakeholders to maintain strong working relationships and ensure client satisfaction.
- Ensure all guests experience a standard of service that commensurate with Merivale standards from file handover through post event phase until reintroduction to sales
- Lead pre-event and post event meetings & pre-season planning and briefings to communicate/review/feedback as required
- Continuously review systems, processes and communication channels, with the view of driving improvements in the way we do things.
- Maintain financial accountability, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost control for assigned events.
Essentials
- Proven experience in event planning and delivery within a large venue or multi-site environment.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Strong background and knowledge in hospitality and customer service, including trends and best practice.
- Sound financial acumen and understanding of compliance and risk management.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience in event management and business intelligence systems (e.g., Momentus, PowerBI, Event Hub) is desirable
