People Experience Partner | Merivale

We're looking for a People Experience Partner (HR Business Partner) on a 12-month Parental Leave Cover with potential to extend to play a critical role in partnering with operational leader to execute Merivale’s People strategy and mitigating business risk across an operational portfolio. This role is responsible for delivering consistent, high-impact support that enables performance, compliance, and a culture of care. 

Acting as a trusted partner to operational leaders, this role provides guidance across the employee lifecycle with a strong focus on embedding group-wide initiatives, championing people-first, and operationally excellent practices that align to business priorities and elevate our employee experience.

The role 

  • People Partnering – with the support of a Senior People Partner, you will be allocated an operational portfolio and key Senior Leader stakeholders to partner with and drive continuous improvement through people strategies and solutions that address business challenges, drive high performance and encourage innovation and growth.  
  • Partner across business functions to influence a safe and respectful culture, drive behavioural change and provide leadership advisory support.
  • Employee Relations (ER) - Provide advisory support on ER/IR matters to portfolio to mitigate risk and protect business reputation.
  • Maintain ER standards, processes, and reporting frameworks to drive compliance excellence through rigorous governance of documentation, case records, and regulatory adherence.
  • Maintain wellbeing documentation and implement initiatives to support employee engagement and safety.

 

Essentials  

  • HR generalist experience within a fun, fast-paced operational environment. 
  • Demonstrated experience in a partnering role, technical expertise, coaching and advice in ER/IR case management, and Award related matters
  • Discretion and professionalism in handling sensitive information. 
  • Clear and confident communicator with a can-do, collaborative mindset. 
  • Ideally, you will have working knowledge of the Hospitality Industry award and previous operational or HR experience in Hospitality or Retail
  • Someone demonstrates a proactive and organised approach to work.
