Junior Sous Chef | Angel
The Venue
Don’t be fooled by our 19th century Victorian gothic exterior and glittering theatre lights, inside angel hotel we’re all soul. Having been a pivotal spot in the sixties and seventies as House of Merivale (John and Merivale Hemmes’ fashion retail space with eateries and an espresso bar) you get the sense that angel hotel has seen many a good time.
The Role
We’re looking for a Junior Sous Chef to head up the kitchen at The Angel pub in the CBD. This role will be suitable for someone that is happy working autonomously and has good accountability for following best kitchen practices and maintain product quality. You will work alongside an exec chef on menu creation and execute a small pub classics menu, popular with the corporate lunch and after work crowd.
To be successful in this role we are looking for the following:
- 2-3 years’ experience working in a similar role working in a pub or casual dining restaurant.
- Experience running a small kitchen and comfortable working closely with the front of house team.
- Driven to execute a consistent food offering and maintain kitchen standards.
- A good understanding of WH&S and allergens.
- High level of organisation and the ability to adapt in a busy work environment.
