Horticulture Supervisor | Merivale
The Role
Bring your talent & passion for gardening to Merivale's growing portfolio of venues across Sydney & surrounds. As our Horticulture Supervisor (indoor plants), you will be safeguarding the brand's aesthetic vision. Reporting to the Group Horticulture Manager, you will be working alongside and providing guidance to the team to ensure each venue expresses its unique character while maintaining a consistent standard of excellence. Whilst maintaining both indoor and outdoor assets, you will take the lead on the indoor horticultural programs. You are also responsible for the completion of activities and efficiency of horticultural programs, including:
- Lead, motivate and support the horticulture team to deliver exceptional results.
- Manage staff schedules and resources, and day-to-day operations.
- Train, educate and supervise team members.
- Conduct site inspections and audits to ensure safety, quality, and compliance standards are met.
- Effective management of horticultural programs, including fertilisation, pest control, and pruning schedules.
- Stock selection and supplier relationships.
- Develop and mentor team members, fostering growth and professional success.
- Support in completion of new venue installs and garden renovations.
About You
Ideally, you will have proven supervisory and/or leadership experience in horticulture, experience caring for indoor plants, and the following knowledge, skills, and abilities:
- Experienced with indoor plants.
- Highly organised, with the ability to manage competing priorities under time restrictions.
- Strong communicator.
- A hands-on leader who leads by example.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Experience maintaining irrigation systems.
- Relevant industry qualifications and/or licences.
- Current driver’s licence (essential).
