Head of Talent Acquisition

We are on the lookout for a forward thinking, innovative Talent Acquisition leader who can optimise our employer brand, implement effective sourcing strategies and improve candidate experience.  The right strategic leader will have an open remit to take our Talent function to the next level.

Owned and run by the Hemmes family for over 60 years, Merivale began as a fashion house that catapulted Sydney into the swinging-sixties for all things music and fashion. Our aim is to bring a little magic into the everyday. We are constantly pushing the boundaries in over 80 venues to encapsulate a unique dining experience. Each space is carefully executed with the same attention to detail across a seemingly endless supply of inspired concepts, restaurants, bars, cafes, pubs, night-life and retail.

 

The Role

We have a unique opportunity for an experienced, innovative and forward-thinking Talent Acquisition leader, to head up our Talent team.  This is team of 8, high performing team, that look for strategic leadership, continuous personal and professional development, and to be challenged in ways that would support their and the business’ growth.

 

This role is responsible for:

The Head of Talent Acquisition will be responsible for delivering Merivale’s next stage of growth by driving group wide Talent Acquisition strategy to ensure it's aligned to the business needs and strategic priorities, sourcing and hiring the best talent across the business and continue to develop and grow the talent acquisition function.

 

Success in this role will see you playing a leadership role within the wider People Experience Team (Px), developing and delivering talent segment plans and related talent acquisition projects, effective management of the recruitment budgets, continuous improvement on recruitment metrics (Time to Fill , Time To Hire, first 3 months retention etc), working closely with internal and external partners to continually increase the effectiveness and efficiency of sourcing channels, and providing timely and effective recruitment metrics and analytics.

 

As this role works closely with a number of head office functions, as well as operational teams in venue, strong influencing, stakeholder and change management skills and the ability to build relationships quickly will be paramount to your success.

 

As the ideal candidate, you will have:

  • 8+ years leading high performing talent acquisition team within a complex, matrixed and a fast-paced business
  • Strong track record of developing and delivering innovative and effective talent acquisition, employer branding, strategic sourcing and recruitment marketing strategies
  • Demonstrated experience in successfully managing talent acquisition functions with high volume recruitment requirements
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Commercial acumen and a data-driven approach
  • Ability to operate under pressure with competing priorities
  • Previous experience in hospitality or retail is advantageous
  • Previous experience in RPO and/or a similar internal talent acquisition function will be highly regarded
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications
