As Head of Safety, you'll be the architect of Merivale's comprehensive WHS strategy, ensuring the safety and wellbeing of our diverse workforce. This senior leadership position combines strategic thinking with hands-on expertise, partnering with operational leaders to embed a proactive safety culture while managing complex compliance requirements.

What You'll Do

  • Strategic Transformation - Develop and execute enterprise-wide WHS strategy across multiple high-energy hospitality sites
  • Lead with Care - Lead psychosocial risk management and positive duty compliance, creating respectful, safe workplace environments
  • Systems Excellence - Maintain and evolve our Safety Management System, ensuring best-practice compliance and continuous improvement
  • Stakeholder Partnership - Collaborate with senior leadership, operational teams, and external partners to embed safety in every business decision
  • Performance Management - Oversee injury management, insurance optimisation, and data-driven reporting to the Senior Management Team

What You Bring

  • Graduate Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety with AIHS professional membership
  • Proven track record leading WHS in high-risk, multi-site environments - hospitality, construction, or manufacturing
  • Expertise in psychosocial risk assessment and positive duty compliance
  • Strong commercial acumen with experience managing budgets, insurance, and workers' compensation
  • Exceptional communication skills with ability to influence and engage at all organisational levels
