Owned and run by the Hemmes family for over 60 years, Merivale began as a fashion house that led Sydney into the swinging sixties for all things music and fashion. The Role

We have a unique opportunity for an experienced, driven, and innovative event professional to take charge of Merivale’s event team for a 12-month parental leave contract. A high-energy and well-performing team of Event professionals, continuous business growth and team development will ensure the success of this role.

 

This role is responsible for:

  • Partnering and collaborating with key stakeholders including Executive Chefs, Senior Beverage Team, Head of Sales and Events, and Head of Event Styling.
  • Leading change through ownership, high standards, communication, and impact!
  • Regular reporting, insights, and analysis to guide decision-making around event products.
  • Harnessing the full range of strengths and skills across teams to deliver exceptional guest experience.

 

We will be looking at you to challenge the status quo and drive a new way of thinking when it comes to events and guest experience.  Your ability to utilise data, analytics, and customer insights will play a huge part in your success. 

 

This role works closely with several head office functions, as well as operational teams in venue. Strong influencing, stakeholder and change management skills and the ability to build relationships quickly will be paramount to your success.

 

As the ideal candidate, you will have:

  • Extensive knowledge and a thorough understanding of the events industry within Australia.
  • Experience leading and developing a high-performing team.
  • Ability to drive revenue and increase business growth.
  • Be able to quickly build relationships with key stakeholders both internal and external.
  • A passion for the hospitality and events industry.
