The Venue

Palings Flowers is seeking an experienced and creative Florist to join our small, talented team. We create bespoke floral arrangements for a portfolio of Merivale venues, bars, restaurants, and events, as well as a curated in-store retail experience in the heart of Sydney's CBD.

This is not your traditional shopfront role—while you'll contribute to the retail offering, our work spans far beyond the counter. All team members are involved in venue styling, installations, and regular floral servicing across Merivale's diverse and ever-evolving spaces. From elegant restaurant vases to in-store bouquets to large-scale event florals, our work is refined, thoughtful, and always evolving.

About the role:

• You'll work closely with our experienced team to create and maintain daily arrangements for over 25 restaurants, bars, and venues, enhancing each space with florals that reflect its unique identity

• When you're not out styling venues, you'll be in-store serving customers, creating bouquets and vase arrangements and delivering warm, attentive service that goes above and beyond

• Days start early with flower market runs, followed by prep and arranging in our CBD workspace

• You'll contribute to events and activations, working both independently and collaboratively on-site

• A strong eye for colour, form, and texture—and the ability to move quickly without compromising detail—is essential

About you:

• Minimum 2+ years' experience in high-end floristry

• Strong understanding of seasonal varieties, flower care, pricing, and handling

• Calm, efficient, and creative in fast-paced environments with tight turnarounds

• Full driver's licence and confidence driving in the CBD

• Physically capable of lifting, long days on your feet, and the overall physical demands of floristry

• Professional, friendly, clear communicator with initiative and team spirit

• Must be available Mondays and Fridays; additional days and flower market availability highly regarded
