The Role
Merivale’s ‘Finance Transformation Manager’ is a key finance leadership role, identifying, owning and delivering key change / transformation initiatives and day to day management of group-wide Finance and operational processes. The role, reporting into the Group Financial Controller, is responsible for the improvement of financial and operational controls in a programmatic way as and impactful business partner.
Key responsibilities
Transformation:
- Develop a roadmap strategy through redesign of finance processes, enabling systems, optimising people roles and responsibilities and effective business partnering
- Lead, drive and execute on transformation roadmap priorities and initiatives, ensuring alignment to the finance strategy. This includes creating solutions by intimately understanding existing processes and redesigning including a relevant program of works
- Develop project plans and resource schedules, and track project timelines/milestones, using appropriate planning tools including the leadership and coordination of steering committees
Financial:
- Lead Accounts Payable / Receivable team in owning and delivering the objectives of the function, day to day processes and escalations
- Lead certain finance operations processes, analytics or partnering opportunities
Governance:
- Support the prioritisation and assessment of group-wide change priorities and initiatives
- Drive group policy development, review and compliance
- Partner closely with Venue Operations to solve and improve finance and accounting operational issues
People Management:
- Manage team resources to ensure timely and accurate delivery of required outcomes
- Lead and motivate others to achieve high standards and be a high performing function
- Manage direct reports, set KPIs, annual performance reviews and career development
- Build strong relationships with key stakeholders
Your Experience:
The successful candidate will ideally have strong Financial Control experience and a proven track record of delivering programs of work to improve and transform Finance functions. Demonstrated senior leadership extending to excellent communication skills and team management skills is imperative, to create an experience that makes a difference.
Along with:
- CA/CPA qualified with a minimum of 10-years post qualification experience in a reporting role and/or technical role within chartered/commerce
- Strong communication and stakeholder influencing skills, excellent interpersonal skills, naturally engages and motivate others
- High level of attention (including a hands-on approach) to detail but able to balance and understand the bigger picture
- Demonstrated ability to develop and improve finance processes including successful delivery of projects and initiatives
- Robust internal control and compliance understanding
- Financial control experience and skills, preferably in a complex operating environment
- Team management and development experience, ability to develop and motivate staff
- Senior stakeholder management experience
- Experience working with data analytics and PowerBI dashboards
- Big 4 background preferred
