The Role
Plan some of the most exciting sporting events in Sydney, with the best team and tools on hand. This new financial year is shaping up to be our biggest yet and we need your help to deliver dreams across our event spaces!
You will predominantly be responsible for planning events across our sporting calendar at both Sydney Cricket Ground and Allianz Stadium. This role will see you collaborating closely with our internal teams—including Sales, Event Kitchens, and Event Operations—to plan and execute a variety of events. Additionally, you will prioritise and manage partnerships with external stakeholders, including our sporting partners, ensuring effective collaboration and joint success
Your day might look like:
- Managing large volume, multiple day and multiple venue events across Sydney Cricket Ground & Allianz Stadium
- Bespoke Event Planning working closely with internal & external stakeholders
- Coordinate and communicate verbally and in writing with the client regarding event details
- Produce and distribute accurate floorplans and event sheets
- Lead pre-event and post event meetings to communicate/review/feedback as required
- Identify challenges and work with the client, sales, operations and kitchen teams to solve these challenges
- Manage client budgets to maximize revenue, upsell and to meet client needs, ensure financials for the event and payments are accurate
- Ensure all guests experience a standard of service that commensurate with Merivale standards from file handover through post event phase.
- Maintain and regularly update data base including relevant client information
As the ideal candidate, you will have:
- 2+ years event management experience, including inhouse venue event planning
- Ability to drive revenue, upsell and increase growth across events and the business in its entirety.
- Extensive experience collaborating with both internal and external stakeholders
- To be able to think and act strategically
- System related strengths would be considered an asset
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to juggle multiple projects, events & stakeholders at the one time
- A passion for all things Merivale
- A big sports fan is a bonus!
