Owned and run by the Hemmes family for over 60 years, Merivale began as a fashion house that led Sydney into the swinging sixties for all things music and fashion. With a knack for creativity, “The House of Merivale” injected a new energy into the theatre of Sydney transforming the brand into what we know now as one of the largest leading hospitality empires in Australia.

 

The Role 

Plan some of the most exciting events in Sydney, with the best team and tools on hand. Our event scope is endless! This new financial year is shaping up to be our biggest yet! We need your help to deliver dreams in our event spaces!

You will plan events across various venues in our portfolio of 90+ venues.  This role will see you collaborating with Sales, Event Kitchens and Event Operations teams to plan and activate a number of events across our venues.
 
Your day might look like:

  • Manage large production, multiple day / venue events, restaurant buyouts including weddings
  • Coordinate and communicate verbally and in writing with the client regarding event details
  • Produce and distribute accurate floorplans and event sheets
  • Lead pre-event and post event meetings to communicate/review/feedback as required
  • Identify challenges and work with the client, sales, operations and kitchen teams to solve these challenges
  • Manage client budgets to maximize revenue and to meet client needs, ensure financials for the event and payments are correct
  • Ensure all guests experience a standard of service that commensurate with Merivale standards from file handover through post event phase.
  • Maintain and regularly update data base including relevant client information

 

As the ideal candidate, you will have:

  • 2+ years event management experience, including inhouse venue event planning
  • Ability to drive revenue and increase growth
  • To be able to think and act strategically
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to juggle multiple projects at once
  • Be a relationship builder and have great stakeholder management skills
  • A passion for all things Merivale!
