The Venue

31 elegantly appointed guest rooms, including two stylish Penthouse suites, access to a private gym and Establishment's numerous bars and restaurants; Establishment Hotel offers uniquely luxurious accommodation for discerning travellers. 

Located in the middle of Sydney's CBD, it's a very short walk to Sydney Harbour, the Opera House and botanical gardens. Convenient access to Sydney’s nightlife right at its doorstep, hotel guests have the option of enjoying a specially crafted cocktail in the 1920s-style clandestine bar, Palmer & Co, or a romantic fine-dining experience at the two-hatted restaurant Mr Wong, without having to leave the building. 

 

The Role

The Duty Manager of Establishment is hands-on and genuinely passionate about delivering exceptional guest service, developing the Hotel offering and understands hotel operations inside out. In this exciting and diverse role you will join the Establishment precinct senior leadership team.

 

Not only will you be focused on the operation of the hotel including Front Office, Housekeeping and Concierge.

In addition to managing the daily operation of the Hotel, you will work closely with our Operations team and the General Manager on other aspects of the business including Human Resources, People Development and F&B.

 

You will be very well organised, have exceptional communication skills and have the capability to build strong rapports with guests and Merivale colleagues.

Ideally you will encompass and embrace the Merivale way of life at the same time think outside the box to problem solve.  You will have a passion for team mentorship and collaboration whilst always driving guest experience from start to finish.

 

Your key focuses will include:

  • Dedication and passion to deliver excellent guest engagement and VIP experience;
  • Team management – lead, develop and drive a positive culture within the team
  • Proven record of working toward KPIs, rostering, wage analysis and labour control.
  • Rate management and revenue forecasting;
  • Relationship management with key stakeholders including OTA’s;
  • Regular usage of Technologies, including Hotel PMS, OTAs, POS.
  • Delivery and execution of room service.
