The Role

We are looking for an Assistant Accounts Payable Manager to join our Finance team based in Merivale HQ. You will be responsible for the full range of Accounts Payable responsibilities, including the processing and payment of all invoices on time and in line with the needs of the business.

This presents an exciting opportunity to work with the industry leader in the ever-changing world of hospitality. Your portfolio of venues would include some of Sydney’s most iconic restaurants, bars and night spots including Establishment, The Newport, Coogee Pavilion, ivy or any one of our 80+ venues. It won’t take you long to see that no two days are the same.

Our ideal candidate must have 1-2 years’ leadership experience in a high volume AP position, strong administration, communication and organisation skills with an exceptional eye for detail.


Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supervision of a small team to ensure objectives are met on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis
  • End to end Accounts Payable function, including accurate processing of invoices, supplier statement reconciliations & payment runs
  • Maintenance of Accounts Payable supplier details
  • Corporate credit card reconciliation
  • Process improvements within department and managing internal controls
  • Partnering with internal and external stakeholders to ensure best practice is adhered to 
  • Act as an escalation point for internal and external queries
  • Assisting with ad-hoc requests, analysis and reporting as required
  • Assisting team in reconciliations where needed


To be considered for the role you will ideally have:

  • 1-2 years leadership experience in a high volume environment
  • Experience with large ERP AP systems (SunSystems/Basware experience preferred)
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office, especially Excel (advanced)
  • Attention to detail / dedication to accuracy and a proactive approach
  • Strong interpersonal skills for interacting with colleagues, suppliers, and upper management
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Good presentation skills for inter-departmental training sessions
  • Good planning and organizational skills to balance and prioritize work
  • The ability to work autonomously with tight deadlines
