The Role

One of Sydney's best known, and largest hospitality group is seeking an Accounts Payable & Receivable Manager to join its Head Office in the CBD. You will be responsible for overseeing all tasks relating to Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Expense Management and for ensuring an appropriate control environment with best practice processes and continuous improvement.

 

You will have a hands-on approach, great leadership capabilities, the ability to communicate with a range of people across Merivale and be self-motivated to drive outcomes. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to Merivale’s continuing evolution and expansion.

 

The accounts team is responsible for:

  • Accounts Payable (AP) function, including accurate coding and processing of a high volume of invoices and facilitating payments to suppliers.
  • Maintenance of supplier relationships, responding to supplier queries, supplier statement reconciliations and supplier set-up.
  • Provide support and ongoing training and development of new and existing staff.
  • Supporting the Accounts Receivable (AR) processes including raising invoices, applying receipts, reconciliations, and debtor reporting/ recovery.
  • Supporting Expense Management including credit card maintenance, reimbursements and related support.
  • Maintenance of the various accounts systems including the internal approval matrix within the AP system.
  • Investigating & resolving any internal/external queries in relation to AP/AR.

 

 

The Essentials

To be successful in this position, you will also have the following skills, knowledge and attributes:

  • Minimum 6 years’ experience in a high-volume environment
  • Experience with large ERP systems (SunSystems/Basware/Concur experience advantageous)
  • Strong attention to detail / dedication to accuracy and a proactive approach
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • The ability to work autonomously and meet deadlines
  • Experience in managing teams and delivering through others
  • Change mindset with a strong appetite for continuous evaluation and improvement of processes.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic and ever-expanding business.
  • Positively contribute to the brand and culture of the team.
