We are currently seeking a passionate Operations Manager to join our team at Excelsior.

 

The Venue

El Loco is lively, loud and proud of it. We speak fluent agave (with over 100 types of tequila and mezcal on offer) and we’re crazy for tacos; whether it’s beef, chicken, fish or vegetarian, your tastebuds are in for a treat. We even have a secret taco (and, no, we’re not telling). We have a line-up of resident DJs, and on Fridays and Saturdays we stay open until 3am, so there’s always a fiesta going on at El Loco. The Role

This is an incredible opportunity for an Operations Manager to lead a team of passionate hospitality professionals as well as be a part of one of Merivales most iconic locations. We are looking for someone who is committed to imbedding themselves in the team & venue, connecting authentically with the community. We build teams who know how to deliver guest experiences like no other. Our leaders are expected to always drive the teams they support to create magical moments for every guest – big and small! 

 

We need someone who is a passionate leader, not afraid to roll up their sleeves working in venue alongside their team in order to better understand and drive guest experience, strategy and growth!

 

You will run the day-to-day operations across the venue around all things people, product and performance. Your day could look like anything from management of compliance, to curation of F&B menus, to stocktakes and audits, to driving team training and initiatives, to collaborating with industry leaders around achieving company visions and goals!

 

To be successful in this role you will: 

  • Have a minimum of 2+ years in a similar management position
  • Have exposure to managing teams in a high-volume bar or pub
  • Be ultimately accountable for aspects of your venue's P&L
  • Understand how to deliver exemplary guest experience. This incredible venue will feel warm and welcoming with a casual tone of engagement. Underpinned by knowledgeable, professional execution.
  • Lead & Coach a diverse team of people.  Ensuring that team culture is guest focused, community led, and sales driven.
  • Competency to drive the financial results of the department.  Be sales focused, create and lead the team to execute revenue initiatives. Demonstrate proven results in management of financial controls.
  • Passion for product. Support the extraordinary team of chefs and guarantee you and your teams have a detailed knowledge of the product.
  • Establish a healthy working environment for the team – enjoyable, educational, results focused and respectful.
