The Venue

El Loco at Excelsior is lively, loud and proud of it. We speak fluent tequila (with more than 30 types on offer) and we’re crazy for tacos; whether it’s beef or tofu, your tastebuds are in for a treat. We even have a secret taco (and, no, we’re not telling).

We have a line-up of resident DJs, and on Fridays and Saturdays we stay open until 3am, so there’s always a fiesta going on at El Loco. Get your amigos together and get the party started!

The Role

This is the perfect opportunity for a up & coming Assistant Operations Manager to learn from a team of passionate hospitality professionals as well as be a part of one of Merivales most iconic locations. We are looking for someone who is committed to imbedding themselves in the team and venue, connecting authentically with the community.

In a nutshell, you will need to

• Understand how to deliver exemplary guest experience. This incredible venue will feel warm and welcoming with a casual tone of engagement. Underpinned by knowledgeable, professional execution.
• Lead & Coach a diverse team of people.  Ensuring that team culture is guest focused, community led, and sales driven.
• Competency to drive the financial results of the department.  Be sales focused, create and lead the team to execute revenue initiatives. Demonstrate proven results in management of financial controls.
• Passion for product. Support the extraordinary team of chefs and guarantee you and your teams have a detailed knowledge of the product.
• Establish a healthy working environment for the team – enjoyable, educational, results focused and respectful.
