The Venue

Sydney pubs occupy corner blocks, come stocked with beer, and act as surrogate living rooms for their local community. Exemplary of these qualities is The Dog – or Duke of Gloucester – in Randwick. It's got dozens of taps pumping everything from Hahn SuperDry to Furphy to local microbrewery labels, and a bistro serving pub classics, along with special Beef Tartar, Wings, Semolina Gnocchi, and more. 

 

The Role 

We are looking for a passionate and enthusiastic full time Chef de Partie who is ready to take the next step and join us at The DOG. The Merivale portfolio means you will start your career with a stable and successful hospitality company who can take your passion and knowledge to the next level. Many of our CDPs have built their careers with Merivale and haven’t looked back.  

 

To be successful at Merivale you need to possess the following:  

  • 2 to 3 years relevant experience in quality bistros, pub, or hotel  
  • Can ideally manage the grill section
  • Good knife skills and a desire to learn  
  • An understanding of HACCP and hygiene practices  
  • Good communication skills, attitude and be a team player
