The Venue  

Mr. Wong does Cantonese-style food in a larger-than-life way. This two hat venue seats 240 people over two levels and serves a selection of up to 80 dishes, it’s a big affair. Yet somehow, with nooks for two, dim lighting and moody jazz the restaurant still manages to feel intimate. 
At the helm is Executive Chef Dan Hong, who brings his energy and creative flair to the kitchen. Barbecue ducks are a crowd favourite (we have a whole room dedicated to them), as is our lunchtime dim sum menu by Michael Luo. With such an extensive menu and wine list to match, be prepared to make some tough choices.  

 

The Role  

We are looking for a driven and competent Demi Chefs, Chef de Parties and Pastry Chef to join our team on a full-time basis. You will work closely with the senior chefs in driving quality and consistency. We are looking for someone who is passionate about Asian cuisine and cooking techniques and who will have the ability to work in a fast-paced team-orientated environment. 

 

To be successful in this role you must: 

  • Have similar experience in a hatted restaurant or high-end restaurant.
  • Happy working in a busy, fast-paced restaurant.
  • Experience in Asian cooking, ideally with wok experience.
  • Be adaptable, organized, and have a keen eye for detail.
  • Have experience managing and owning your own kitchen.  
  • Be confident in your communication and attitude.
