The Venue

Welcome to Bert’s. Alight-filled bar and brasserie overlooking Pittwater and the grounds of the Newport.

Executive chef Jordan Toft’s coastal European menu has something for every occasion. Order a light meal from the bar menu or dine in our restaurant. Start with something from the Oyster Bar – caviar, dressed crab or crudo. For mains select live lobster from the tank, or whole fish, beef, pork or poultry roasted in the charcoal oven or over the Basque grill. To accompany the mains the larder table has a selection of vegetables, simple prepared.

 

The Role

We are looking for a Chef de Partie to join the team at Bert’s, if you are looking for your next career move, and have the following traits, then apply today!

  • 2+ years’ experience in a high end or hatted restaurant
  • Adaptable, organised and professional with an eye for detail
  • Experience with charcoal oven and grill would be ideal or keen to learn
  • Knowledge around preparing shellfish, whole fish and roast meats preferred
  • Work in a busy open kitchen, so being well presented and cool, calm and collected is important.
