The Venue  

Welcome to Bert’s… A light filled Bar & Brasserie overlooking Pittwater and the stunning grounds of The Newport. Reminiscent of the grant hotel dining rooms of the 1930’s, with the relaxed air of the northern beaches, this 2-hatted gem boasts a kitchen that is a chef's dream. The marble benchtops and two Basque grills see premium beef and lobster fresh from the tank as staples, whilst the raw bar offers up caviar, NSW oysters and crudo. Bert’s has become a Northern Beaches destination, showcasing a mouth-watering coastal European menu.  

  

The Role  
Bert’s Bar & Brasserie is in looking for an exceptional full-time Chef de partie to join this award-winning team. To be successful in this team, experience cooking in high-end kitchens is desirable and you’ll be expected to be able to run your own section, organise workflows and MEP. Your excellent food safety, communication, and positive outlook will propel you forward within this team.  

 

Our ideal candidate will have the following experience and attributes: 

  • 2+ years' experience in a high-end or hatted restaurant and love working with the best seasonal produce. 

  • Adaptable, organised, and professional with an eye for detail. 

  • Experience with charcoal oven and grill would be ideal or keen to learn. 

  • Knowledge around preparing shellfish, whole fish and roast meats preferred. 

  • Work in a busy open kitchen, so being well presented and cool, calm and collected is important.
