Head Chef | The Quarterdeck

The Venue

A long-standing Narooma institution, Quarterdeck has been known by locals as a place to catch up and celebrate for almost 20 years. With a menu that champions the freshest produce the South Coast has to offer served alongside alongside re-imagined tiki-style cocktails, it is the perfect waterfront venue to watch the sun go down in.

 

The Role

This is a great opportunity to join the team down in Narooma on the South-Coast of NSW. We are looking for a Head Chef to head up the Quarterdeck. If you have considered moving regionally to escape the city this role could be for you.

You will be working with a menu that draws inspiration from the fantastic seafood on offer, with a touch of  Mexican cuisine. You can expect to be serving dishes like tuna tostada with salsa macha, grilled swordfish and crisp squash flower and avo tacos.

 

To be successful in this role you will have;

 

  • 2+ years’ experience in a head chef position or similar role.
  • Ability to manage a small kitchen team, mentoring,  leading and driving them to be successful.
  • Strong organisational skills and great communication and collaboration with the FOH teams.
  • Maintain a consistent menu offering and
  • A strong understanding of  kitchen financials and practices  and can manage labour and food budgets.
  • Can manage the complexities that come from running a regional venue.
  • Good knowledge of kitchen administration, WH&S, and fantastic personal skills.
