We are on the lookout for experienced hospitality professionals to join our family and help our business grow. The Lorne Hotel is situated a few hours outside of Melbourne along the beautiful and ever-popular Great Ocean Road. This multi-faceted hotel, situated just a few hundred meters from the beach, draws tourist crowds and locals alike for its food and location. Merivale aims to bring everything that we love about hospitality to the wonderful and diverse state of Victoria.

The Role 

This is a great opportunity in Lorne for quality and talented Pastry Chef to join the team on a full-time basis, you will need the following experience and attributes: 

 

  • 2+ years relevant experience in the industry.   
  • Knowledge around preparing pastry products including doughs, pastry fillings, cakes, buns, biscuits, and bread. 
  • An understanding of baking, shaping and decorating pastry and bread products. 
  • Worked in a quality restaurant, patisserie, cafe or hotel.  
  • Experience operating large machines including mixers, ovens, dough forming machines.  
  • An understanding of HACCP, hygiene practices and following WH&S. 
  • Can follow a recipe and accurately weigh ingredients. 
  • Good communication skills, attitude and be a team player.
