The Role
We are looking for a Head Chef for Sushi e, who will work closely with Dan Hong on the menu and creative direction of the venue. This is a great opportunity to come in and take a new look at the Japanese offering. A strong understanding of Japanese cuisines and culture is important in this role, as is someone who can bring a truly authentic dining experience to the guest.
Our ideal candidate has:
- 5+ years’ head chef experience in a high-end Japanese restaurant or similar venue.
- Strong communication and people management skills, including team performance and enabling a positive kitchen culture.
- Experience working with internal and external stakeholders and building strong relationships across the FOH, kitchens and senior management.
- Effective financial management across labour and COG’s, meeting sales budget and profit expectations.
- Ability to actively source growth opportunities, deliver on food trends and maintain seasonal offerings.
- Manage and adhere to WH&S, food safety including allergens.
- Experience leading a team of 8+ chefs to deliver a premium offering across the sushi and hot kitchen.
