SCG & SFS Retail | Head Chef

The Venue 

Merivale has been hard at work behind the scenes to deliver a fresh and exciting hospitality experience to Sydney’s key stadiums – the SCG and Allianz Stadium (SFS). Across both stadiums we will be hosting some of Sydney’s biggest events including major sporting events and concerts performed by leading international artists. For this venture we have pulled together an army of top Merivale talent, including executive chefs Jordan Toft, Dan Hong, Mike Eggert, Ben Greeno and Vincenzo Biondini. During your next visit to the SCG or SFS, expect a wide range of Merivale favourites, including, Totti’s, Vinnie’s Pizza, Coogee Pavilion, Jimmy’s Falafel, and many more. 

The Role 

We are looking for exceptional Head Chef, to join our Stadium Retail Kitchen teams on a full-time basis. Our chefs emulate our core values and understand the importance of the guest experience, bringing it into their day-to-day duties. This role will work across the retail team, our retail team look after outlets across both stadiums, and these are where you find Merivale favourites such as Jimmy’s Falafel wraps, Queen Chow dumplings and noodles, El Loco Hotdog’s and more.

To be successful in one of these roles you must: 

• Love to lead and coach large teams of 10+ chefs and have the ability to manage teams across multiple kitchens locations.
• Have the ability to drive financial results and demonstrate strong management skills when dealing with production and managing wastage levels, ensuring sales budgets and profit expectations are met.

• Be solutions-focused, creative, and passionate about the industry.
• Maintain product quality across the outlets with a restaurant level of delivery.
• Strong ability to deliver on WH&S and manage HACCP systems.

• Have at least 3+ years in a similar role with relevant experience working closely with different levels of management including exec chefs and stadium senior management.

• Ideally have experience in multi-outlet venues, arenas, or large event spaces

You will be working with some of Merivale’s most popular brands and will be expected to produce the same quality products at the stadium as they are in the restaurant.
