The Role

We have an exciting opportunity for a talented Wedding Event Manager to join our Event Management team and the everchanging world of hospitality. Work across a portfolio of some of Sydney's most iconic restaurants, bars and night spots including Establishment, ivy, Coogee Pavilion and many more.


The Weddings Event Manager is responsible for the planning and delivery of weddings across over 70 venues in the Merivale portfolio and creating memorable client experiences. The primary focus will be coordinating weddings in the establishment and ivy precincts.


Reporting to the Head of Event Management, your focus will be on coordination and communication with clients regarding their wedding, proactive approach to upselling and problem solving with clients.  It is important to be able to communicate clear and concise information about events to the operations team to ensure that each wedding couple feel special and have a memorable experience.  We want clients to find it easy to do business with Merivale and we are responsible for ensuring continued satisfaction and success.


You will also be responsible for:

  • Effectively managing client budgets, providing and converting opportunities
  • Maintaining complete confidentiality for clients
  • Preparing detailed event sheets and handovers for both the client and operations team
  • Maintaining event profitability and budgets

This role is all about the execution of excellence and creating an unforgettable client experience. To really succeed, you will have:

  • 3-5 years’ experience in a venue event manager role
  • Proven communication skills
  • High attention to detail
  • Experience in the meeting and events industry, client facing roles
  • Proven use of knowledge of the market to provide the best experiences to clients daily
  • Great work ethic and ability to fit well within the team
  • Passion for weddings and the wedding industry
