Key Account Manager (12 Month Contract)

The Role

The Key Account Manager is responsible for the sale of exclusive events across the Merivale portfolio, exceeding the sales budget and ensure best client experience. The primary focus will be nurturing Merivale’s top event client accounts, and developing new opportunities for events and other business units with these accounts. The Key Account Manager will also look for new opportunities to create and convert new Key Accounts for Merivale Events.   

 

Reporting to the Senior Key Accounts Manager, your focus will be:

  • generating new event enquiries in a timely and efficient manner
  • achieving and exceeding set targets
  • ensuring that clients find it easy to do business with Merivale
  • responsible for ensuring continued satisfaction and success.

 

You will need to consistently farm and map your key clients to ensure all opportunities are looked after to the level of customer experience required from a Merivale team member by collaborating with the core sales team to ensure no opportunity is missed, as well as a thorough and precise handover of contracted events to the Event Delivery Team.

 

You must have:

  • 5 years’ experience in a general sales role 
  • additionally minimum 2 years’ experience in a key account or business development role
  • high attention to detail
  • proven outstanding sales results as well as a hunger to convert business
  • effective and excellent communication skills.

 

You will have experience in the corporate event industry, client facing roles, and using knowledge of the market and competitors to identify and develop Merivale’s unique selling propositions and differentiators with inbound enquiries.
