Head of Sales

We are on the lookout for a forward thinking, innovative Sales and Marketing professional who can lead the way in everything guest experience through best practice utilisation of customer data and analytics. The right strategic leader will have an open remit to take our Sales and Events function to the next level.

 

The Company

Owned and run by the Hemmes family for over 60 years, Merivale began as a fashion house that catapulted Sydney into the swinging-sixties for all things music and fashion. Our aim is to bring a little magic into the everyday. We are constantly pushing the boundaries in over 80 venues to encapsulate a unique dining experience. Each space is carefully executed with the same attention to detail across a seemingly endless supply of inspired concepts, restaurants, bars, cafes, pubs, night-life and retail.

 

The Role

We have a unique opportunity for an experienced, innovative and forward-thinking Sales and Growth leader, to head up our group Sales and Events team.  This is a large and high performing team, that look for continuous personal and professional development and to be challenged in ways that would support their and the business’ growth.

 

This role is responsible for:

  • Merivale event sales strategy and driving growth
  • Ownership of end-to-end guest experience for all Merivale events
  • Managing sales, event management and guest relations teams

 

Success in this role looks like driving excellence in guest experience, achieving sales targets and building and implementing a strategy that will support business’ rapid growth. We will be looking at you to challenge the status quo and drive a new way of thinking when it comes to our guests and to re-engineer the end-to-end guest experience when it comes to events.  Your ability to utilise data, analytics, and customer insights, your expertise in customer segmentation and developing relevant sales strategies will be a must. 

 

As this role works closely with a number of head office functions, as well as operational teams in venue, strong influencing, stakeholder and change management skills and the ability to build relationships quickly will be paramount to your success.

 

As the ideal candidate, you will have:

  • a background in leading large sales and growth teams in both B2B and B2C environments with focus on customer experience
  • experience in successfully developing growth strategies utilising CRM technologies, data and insights
  • have a proven track record when it comes to delivering financial sales performance
  • strong influencing and stakeholder management skills
  • change management skills and the ability to build relationships quickly
  • a passion for the hospitality industry and for providing outstanding customer experience
