Bar Team Leader | Mr Wong

The Venue

Mr. Wong, tucked away down Bridge Lane in the heart of Sydney, does Cantonese-style food in a larger than life way. Seating 240 people over two levels and serving up a selection of up to 80 dishes, it’s a big affair. Yet somehow the restaurant still manages to feel intimate, with nooks for two, dim lighting and moody jazz.

The Role

We are on the hunt for a Bar Team Leader with previous bartending and leadership experience. If you are hardworking, energetic and have excellent guest engagement than this is the role for you! In this role you will be a huge support to the management team and a leader to all staff. Responsibilities of the Bar team Leader include;

  • Being a direct link between bar manager and bar team/floor staff
  • Upholding high service standards for the bar in line with the Merivale Structure of Service
  • Leading from the front with the ability to maintain high levels of service whilst supporting a team
  • Driving the performance & development of the bar team
  • Setting and following high expectations set by the bar manager & management team
  • Engaging with guests and team alike
  • Coordinating & facilitating team briefing's & training sessions
  • Controlling of stock & performing spot-checks & stock take
