This impressive venue has already captured the hearts of locals and visitors when we opened its doors in early 2016, making it Australia’s largest beer garden. Nestled amongst idyllic gardens and incorporating various outdoor dining spaces and bars (think mouth-watering burgers, wood-fired pizza's, and simple, no fuss seafood), the sprawling grounds of The Newport include areas perfect for our guests to while the day and night away.


Paying homage to history we're breathing new life into the Newport and it's the perfect time to play your part.  As we prepare summer, The Newport is in the market for chefs to join this already incredible fun and dynamic team.


The Role

We are looking for a Senior Sous Chef to join the team, if you are looking to escape the city and work by the beach, step up and take real ownership of a large kitchen team. Then this is the role for you.


  • 2+ years’ experience in a similar position
  • Manage a team of 15 + chef when the head chef is off
  • Someone that has high-volume experience, good communication and can adapt to different needs of the multiple food outlets.
  • Organised, focused and communication is key
  • The flexibility to work across the kitchen and manage multiple outlets, someone that his happy to train junior staff.
  • Good knowledge around kitchen admin, WH&S and good people skills
